Jamaica – Land I love… Jewellery that honours the Diaspora

So this review isn’t as long as others I’ve written – before you jump to conclusions 👀 its not because the company isn’t good 😏 its simply because there isn’t much you can say about jewellery apart from whether it’s as described, shiny, made well etc. I’m not a Hatton Gardens expert so I won’t pretend to be just for the sake of a review 😆

Now that disclaimer is out of the way, let me tell you about this cute company that I found that satisfied my patriotic needs wholeheartedly.

So I’ve mentioned before that I am of Jamaican descent 🇯🇲 and needless to say I’m quite proud of it. But that pride in the land I love, comes from my Mum instilling it in me from a very very young age. So when I was searching for a Black Owned company that I could buy a gift for my Mum from, I was more than pleased when I came across recommendations for Kionii 🤩🥰

Kionii specialises in making jewellery for the Diaspora 😍 meaning that all of their jewellery features pendants that have various Black countries on them. But they do so in a dainty, yet extremely pretty and fashionable way!

I searched their website for a necklace with a Jamaican pendant on it and found exactly what I was looking for 😁 I knew I wanted it to be gold plated so that was nice and easy since its one of their main options. But whilst they do a couple of options of pendants, such as a Jamaican pendant with all of the different places on it, I chose a more simplistic necklace that had Jamaica 🇯🇲 written in the centre of it. Not because I didn’t like the other option but purely because as patriotic as my Mum is, she is also someone that doesn’t like too much fanfare. So I figured the necklace I chose, would suit her personal style a bit more.
Watch this space though, because the necklace with all the different places in Jamaica, has my name written all over it and a purchase for myself is pending 🤷🏾‍♀️🥰

Now let’s talk about presentation…The necklace arrived in a nice velvet pouch which means that you could give it straight as a gift 🎁 with no worries. But I’m a little on the extra side (you must have guessed that by now 😉) so I decided to buy a gift box from another website just so I could make the presentation even better 😊 Based on that, my one recommendation for this great and dare I say unique company, is to offer a gift box option to customers. That would mean that I wouldn’t have had to go elsewhere and could have spent all of my money with them (which is always the ideal for a Black Business reviewer 🤷🏾‍♀️😁)

It’s important for me to say that the necklace itself was exactly as shown on the website and even though its gold plated, the quality is really good 🥰

I can’t end this review in good conscience though, without mentioning that the price for all of Kionii’s jewellery is crazily reasonable 😲 since it was a gift and my Mum might one day read this, I won’t expose myself by listing the exact price 🤫🤭 Instead, I encourage you to check them out if you want a gift for someone or for yourself, that won’t break the bank but is still nice, pretty and provides a little bit of sentiment for all of the diaspora, patriotic people in your life 🖤
