The adventures of a special dog and a special bunny…. The book every child needs in their life

There aren’t many children’s books that capture little one’s attention in a way that results in you having to read it over and over again to them. When you find a book like that, you literally hang onto it for dear life and then search for the author so you can buy all their other books 📚 Purely because it tends to be every parents dream for their children to have a love and passion for reading 😍

So when my Sons were gifted with the book Chief and Lilly Go To London, I was hopeful that this would be a book that they loved. That hope by the way, was based purely on the bright, animated front cover and the fact that Chief and Lilly are a dog 🐶 and a bunny 🐰 and I haven’t met a child yet that doesn’t love both of those animals 😂 Throw in the fact that we live in London and therefore my eldest Son would recognise some of the landmarks and I figured it could be a winner 🏆

It WAS!!!! Both of my Sons were captured and totally mesmerised by the book. They were fascinated with the way that Chief and Lilly come to life in the book and the undertone of friendship that was present in every page, really appealed to my eldest Son. In fact he kept reminding me that Chief and Lilly were really good friends because they were so eager to help locate their friend and get him home 😂

We ended up reading the book 3 times in one sitting and afterwards my eldest actually asked me if he would find some of the Chief and Lilly magic dust in his room when he went to bed 😂 Obviously I had to break it to him that it was unlikely unless he had a friend that needed their help 🤷🏾‍♀️ (the things you say to children 🤦🏾‍♀️) But him asking me that question showed me that the book had made an impression on him which was what I wanted.

Now you know me well enough to know that I now plan to purchase all Chief and Lilly books 📚 😎 So I’m sure the author Naomi Nicole can expect an influx of orders from me. I’m just as excited as my boys, to see what Chief and Lilly get up to next 😉 (I’m basically a big kid at heart)

So, if you’re looking for a book by a Black author that will capture your children’s attention and really make their imagination come to life, then I recommend the adventures of Chief and Lilly 🖤
